Calici di Stelle in Siena 2019: Saturday, August 10
Saturday, 10 August, Night of San Lorenzo and shooting stars, is the date on which Calici di Stelle in Siena 2019 will take place. Like every year, the summer wine festival has an extensive program including excellent wine tastings and extraordinary visits to some of the main museums in the city. The locations where the event will take place are Palazzo Pubblico, Palazzo Sansedoni, Galleria Cesare Olmastroni and Santa Maria della Scala. The indicative time of the event goes from 21:00 to 00:00.
The program of Calici di Stelle in Siena 2019
This year as well, on Saturday 10th of August, the beautiful city of Siena celebrates the night of San Lorenzo with the event Calici di Stelle.
This traditional event dedicated to wine, art, music and astronomy will be held in some of the most important locations in the city such as the Civic Museum, the Sansedoni Palace, the Cortile del Podestà, the Torre del Mangia and the Santa Maria della Scala complex.
On Friday 9th of August there will be a preview of the event at Campansi. From 17:00 to 20:00, in fact, a toast is scheduled with the guests of the residence.

Palazzo Pubblico

Civic Museum. Night opening with a single ticket for all visitors, including residents of Siena. The ticket includes 3 wine tastings at the Loggia dei Nove and then a guided tour of the “Sadun 100” exhibition.
Loggia dei Nove. Wine tasting by the National Association Città del Vino, together with the Consorzio Chianti Colli Senesi , FISAR Delegation of Siena – Valdelsa and AIS Siena. Stargazing with experts from the Unione Astrofili Senesi is also planned.
Cortile del Podestà. Presentation of the book “I Pasticci di Leonardo” by Simona Bertocchi. Following that, musical performance of the “Siena Jazz School Quartet”, students of the Siena Jazz University.
Torre del Mangia. Special opening of the civic tower.
MPS Foundation
Address and hours: Banchi di Sotto, 34. 21 – 24.
Entrance to Palazzo Sansedoni including three tastings selected by Enoclub Siena. On the main floor of the building, which was the prestigious mansion of the illustrious Sansedoni family, it will be possible to admire some works of art of the MPS Foundation.
The initiative is organized in collaboration with Vernice Progetti Culturali.
Santa Maria della Scala
Addresses and hours: Piazza Duomo, 1. Hours 21.30 – 23.30.
Free admission to the Cappella del Manto for those who bought the unique ticket.
Musical concert by the Rinaldo Franci Institute, with works by Bach, Mozart, Ibert, Telemann, Boismortier and Rota. The flute will be played by Mattia Scandurra, Fabiana Magliano and Gioia Anichini.
Cesare Olmastroni Gallery
Address and times: Via di Città, 75. Hours 21 – 24.
Extraordinary opening of the gallery on the occasion of the event.
