An excellence is famous throughout the world
Italy has always been adept at making the most of its culinary traditions, due to its expert use of raw materials, in many cases true excellences, synonymous with quality and dedication. Throughout the country there are a considerable number of grape varieties, each with its own peculiarities and characteristics that make it special. The beautiful province of Siena produces one of the finest Italian wines, Chianti dei Colli Senesi, which since 1981 rightfully boasts the denomination DOCG (denomination of controlled and guaranteed origin). This wine uses mainly the Sangiovese vine variety, which has an 80% grape blend. It is produced by wineries in Siena, Montalcino, Montepulciano, Monteriggioni, San Gimignano, Pienza, Murlo and Castelnuovo Berardenga. Over the years, the importance of Chianti wine has grown at an equal pace with the fame of its territory, forming another made in Italyagricultural excellence.
Tuscan tradition in Villa Agostoli’s production
The Villa Agostoli farm was established 50 years ago thanks to the Stasi family’s expertise and their love of the land. In keeping with Tuscan tradition, since its inception the company has aimed at focussing on a production method that is high-quality, eco-friendly and able to protect crops from the use of chemicals. This courageous choice has resulted in organic fruit and vegetable crops and the production of olive oil with a distinctive flavour and excellent organoleptic properties, as well as also being organic, and endorsed with the DOP classification.
A romantic return to wine production
Since 2015 the Villa Agostoli farm has consistently increased its focus on quality, completely renewing all its vineyards and concentrating on producing organic Chianti. This process of a qualitative search for perfection will begin to come to fruition from the 2019-2020 season, when the first grapes will begin to produce a wine with a fruity aroma and delicate flavor, in the best traditions of Chianti dei Colli Senesi. Once bottled, in glass bottles or flasks with cork stoppers, according to tradition, the excellent Chianti dei Colli Senesi from Villa Agostoli will be available to purchase from the farm itself. It will also be available for tasting at the bar and restaurant of the Hotel Garden, situated in a magnificent 18th-century park just a few minutes from the historic centre of Siena. Villa Agostoli has always attempted to involve its guests in a complete farming holiday, so that they feel that they are an integral part of the production process through their participation in activities on the fields and in tasting tours. These activities allow visitors to gain first-hand experience of the main steps of wine production, from harvesting to pressing.
