Sangiovese Purosangue in Siena 2019: dates and program
The agenda for the first weekend of November is occupied by the event Sangiovese Purosangue in Siena 2019, a wine event that celebrates one of the most famous vines in the world every year. The program of the event offers wine tastings, conferences, seminars, food stands and meetings with wine industry operators. This edition will be attended by 100 producers and there will be over 350 labels. Moreover, for the first time, the doors of the festival will also open to “international Sangiovese” wines.
The program of Sangiovese Purosangue 2019 in Siena
The rich and varied program of Sangiovese Purosangue in Siena 2019 will take place in various places in the city of the Palio.
In the days of Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 November the event will also be open to the public, while the days of Monday 4 and Tuesday 5 will be reserved for various initiatives aimed especially at operators in the wine sector.
Surely, one of the main locations of the event will be the Italo Calvino Convention Center located on the seventh floor of Palazzo Squarcialupi, in the context of the museum complex of Santa Maria della Scala.
This hall for congresses and seminars, among other things, was inaugurated in June this year on the occasion of another great food and wine event held in Siena, BuyFood Toscana.
Other events of this wine event will be held at the Magazzini del Sale, at the Palazzo Pubblico in Piazza del Campo, at Palazzo Scotti and the cultural center Spaziosiena.
Taking part in this event will offer the opportunity to make excellent tastings of wines made with Sangiovese grapes, such as the sensational nectars of the Chianti territory, the famous Brunello di Montalcino and the Rosso di Montepulciano.

Saturday 2 November
Two important introductory seminars are scheduled for the morning of Saturday 2 November at the Italo Calvino Hall.
In the afternoon, other events will also be held in other locations in the city.

15.00 Magazzini del Sale. Until 19:30 tasting stands curated by Sangiovese Purosangue with the participating producers. Admission 20 euros, reduced for Enoclub members 15 euros.
17.00 Italo Calvino Hall. Historical vertical on the old vintages Tenuta Silvio Nardi. 1979-2012. Meeting curated by Davide Bonucci.
18.00 Siena Program Abroad, Palazzo Scotti. Until 21.00 aperitif with artistic performance.
21.00 Dinner with Sangiovese producers
The admission to seminars with a light lunch in the morning costs 35 euros.
Sunday 3 November
11.00 Italo Calvino Hall Seminar entitled Sangiovese dal Mondo
15.00 Magazzini del Sale. Until 19:30 tasting stands curated by Sangiovese Purosangue with the participating producers. Admission 20 euros, reduced for Enoclub members 15 euros.
17.00 Comparative seminar between the areas of Burgundy and the Sangiovese areas. The meeting will be conducted by Armando Castagno. Seminar ticket for Enoclub members 65 Euro.
19.00 Aperitif at the Spaziosiena cultural center in Via Fontebranda.
20.45 – Dinner with the Sangiovese producers at the Compagnia dei Vinattieri. Cost 40 Euro.

Tuesday 5 November
10.00 Italo Calvino Hall. Until 15:00 tastings with service for operators
17.00 Technical update conference, with Sistemi e Professione Consulenti.The topics covered will be sustainability in the wine sector, updating the negotiation of the Pac reform and the future of the wine sector.
