The 4 routes of Terre di Siena Ultramarathon 2019
Those who are interested in participating in the fifth edition of the Terre di Siena Ultramarathon, scheduled for Sunday February 24th, can choose between 4 routes. Three itineraries are dedicated to those who practice intense sport activities and consist in real competitive races of 50, 32 and 18 Km; the fourth itinerary, instead, consists of a healthy walk in the historic center of Siena and is also open to all those who do not practice physical activity regularly.
To reach the starting point of each route, the organization has set up a free shuttle bus service; from Siena’s city centre. In addition to the above mentioned benefits, a shower service will be active, and also a bag service and those who request it will be provided with a meal voucher to be used at the restaurants in Piazza del Campo participating in the initiative.
San Gimignano – Siena (50 Km.)
The longest route will link two UNESCO World Heritage Sites such as the beautiful town of San Gimignano and the center of Siena.
The start of this race is scheduled for 09:00 in Piazza Duomo in San Gimignano, while the finish line is set in Piazza del Campo in Siena. The maximum arrival time is 8 hours.
Positive altimetry: 600 meters
Registration fee: from 01/02/2019 to 19/02/2019 the registration for the 50 Km race costs 55,00 Euro.
Colle Val d’Elsa – Siena (32 Km.)
The second route of the fifth edition of the Terre di Siena Ultramarathon will link the beautiful Colle Val d’Elsa to the center of Siena.
The departure is scheduled at 09:30 in Piazza Arnolfo in Colle Val d’Elsa with arrival in the setting of Piazza del Campo in Siena.
Positive altimetry: 450 meters
Registration fee: from 01/02/2019 to 19/02/2019 the registration for the 32 Km race costs 45,00 Euro.
Monteriggioni – Siena (18 Km.)
The shorter competitive race of the Terre di Siena Ultramarathon 2019 will start in the renowned town of Monteriggioni and will also end in the historic center of Siena.
The race will start at 10:00 in Piazza del Castello in Monteriggioni and the arrival will be in Piazza del Campo in Siena as well.
Positive altimetry: 200 meters
Registration fee: from 01/02/2019 to 19/02/2019 the registration for the 18 Km race costs 35,00 Euro.
Walk through the streets of Siena (6 Km.)
The walk through the streets of Siena, finally, consists of a simple route of 6 Km open to all in accordance with the Decree of the Ministry of Health of 24/04/2013 on protection of sport activities.
The departure is scheduled at 10:00 in Piazza del Campo with arrival in the same location.
Registration fee: the registration for the 6 Km walk costs 5,00 Euro. A race pack will be given to the participants.
Where to sleep
On the occasion of the event, anyone who wish to spend the weekend in Siena can take advantage of the privileged position of some of the structures of the Siena Inns groups, such as the Relais Degli Angeli and the Hotel Italia, respectively 5 and 15 minutes walk from Piazza del Campo, where all the itineraries of the Ultra Marathon 2019 will end.
Registration requirements for the Terre di Siena Ultramarathon 2019
These are the registration requirements for the competitive races of the fifth edition of the Terre di Siena Ultramarathon:
- 20 years of age for the 50 Km race, and 18 years of age for the 32 and 18 Km races (As of 24 February 2019)
- UISP card valid up to February 24th 2019
- Medical certificate for Competitive Athletics (“running”, “marathon” and “race” are not accepted).
- Health Form certificate for foreign athletes not residing in Italy
- ID document
